Data Centre Incentivization and Make in India Drive Data Centre Growth

According to the report, growth in the data center industry is being propelled by important government programs such as the 'Data Centre Incentivization Scheme' and 'Make in India'.

The global Data Center market is projected to grow from 227 billion dollars in 2023 to 250 billion dollars by 2025, fueled mainly by cloud computing, edge technologies, and AI/ML, revolutionizing data management and storage practices in industries.

India can increase its data centre capacity by 500 MW within the next four years. The capacity of the country's data center sector has increased by over 470 MW, reaching 1,011 MW by 2023, maintaining its position as one of the world's fastest-growing markets.

During the first six months of the year, there was a 21 per cent increase in the uptake of data centres, driven by a growing need for edge data centres in tier 2 and 3 cities.

A report predicts that India's data centre market will increase from $7 billion in 2023 to $8 billion by 2025. These advancements will add to the expansion of the nation's data center capacity, which, as per a study by 1Lattice, a technology-driven market research firm, is expected to increase from 1,150 MW in 2023 to 1,700 MW by 2025, showing a strong growth rate of 22 percent.
